Generators & Quick Tools
Name rollers, encounter builders, and idea engines — including the 13 procedural generators we ship ourselves.
Generators break prep deadlock: a name you can pronounce, an encounter you can run, a hook you can steal. Some of the best are free.
The classics (free)
- donjon (donjon.bin.sh) — the veteran suite: names, dungeons, loot, calendars, towns.
- Fantasy name generators — hundreds of culture-flavored name lists when you just need one more tavern keeper.
Our own Forge — 13 procedural generators
We built the suite we wanted to use: encounters, NPCs, traps, puzzles, dungeon rooms, villains, patrons, religions, cultures, d100 tables, minion groups, legendary creatures, and proactive RP NPCs. Every output is deterministic (same seed = same result), IP-clean, and can be saved to a world, copied as markdown, or shared as a seed-bearing URL. Browse community results and fork them at the Forge feed.
Tips
- Roll before the session, not during — then improvise freely knowing the bones exist.
- A generated NPC plus a Codex grab plus summoned art is a complete table-ready character in under two minutes.
