Threadmother
Medium aberration, chaotic evil
In the Drift, widows mend nets for the boats that did not come back, and some of them mend too long. A threadmother is what grief looks like when it learns to sew with something besides twine: a stitched horror trailing lamp-thread, still trying to keep its family close by keeping them attached. The strings go into the skin painlessly. That is the worst part.

Traits
Shared String. When a creature grappled by the threadmother would take damage from an attack, the threadmother can redirect half of it to the grappled creature. The grappled creature can resist each redirection with a successful DC 15 Wisdom saving throw.
Unravel. The threadmother has advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened.
Actions
Multiattack. The threadmother makes two thread lash attacks.
Thread Lash. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d8 + 3) slashing damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 14).
Puppet Pull (Recharge 5–6). One creature grappled by the threadmother must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or use its reaction to make one melee attack against an ally of the threadmother's choice.
