The Assistant

Brainstorm with a chat that can read your campaign, or talk to an NPC in character.

The Assistant is under Play in the sidebar. Opening it starts a new chat with the campaign assistant: type a question and it answers.

Point it at a campaign

  1. The button at the top right of the chat shows what the chat is pointed at. A new chat starts on No campaign. Press it to open the Context panel.
  2. Pick one of your campaigns. The chat then draws on that campaign’s notes as well as the 5e rules. No campaign · rules only answers from the 5e rules alone.
  3. If you like, pick one of that campaign’s sessions. That files the chat under the session; answers still draw on the whole campaign’s notes.

A chat keeps the context it started with. Picking something else in the Context panel starts a new chat. Only campaigns you belong to are offered.

Which model answers

The Context panel also shows the model. It is FTTHelper’s own unless you have connected an AI key on the API keyspage, in which case your key answers. If your key fails, FTTHelper’s models answer instead.

Your chats

The column on the left lists your chats under the campaign they were started in, and under the session within it if you picked one. Chats with no campaign are listed under Chats. Opening an old chat shows the whole conversation and keeps its campaign. On a phone, the list opens from the button at the top left.

Talk to an NPC

  1. Press Roleplay with an NPC at the bottom of the chat list, and pick a character from the published NPC Codex.
  2. Or start from an NPC’s page in the NPC Codex with Chat with and their name.
  3. The NPC answers in character, from their Codex profile. Your roleplay chats are listed under Roleplay.

A quick question about one campaign

Every campaign page also has an Ask box. The answer comes with numbered sources you can open, and it only draws on what you are allowed to see in that campaign.
