Loremaster’s notes
The Battle Master is the "I have a parry, a trip, a disarm, a precision, and a trip" fighter. Superiority dice (4d8 at level 3, scaling to 6d12 at level 18) fuel your maneuvers. Best picks: Precision Attack (add 1d8 to attack roll, cannot miss), Trip Attack (target makes a STR save or prone, finishing their turn with 0 movement), Parry (add 1d8+DEX mod to your AC for one attack, as a reaction), Disarming Attack, Trip Attack. The signature trick: Precision Attack on a level 4 (greatsword + GWM -5) attack is a 90%+ hit chance. Combined with GWM, you can use Precision Attack as insurance on the first hit, then have a normal hit chance for follow-ups. At level 15, you can spend 1 superiority die to make a study on a target (you know its AC and can reroll missed attacks). At level 18, you have 6 superiority dice per short rest.
