Loremaster’s notes
The Undying Warlock is the "I cannot die" Warlock. Defy Death (level 1) lets you, when you would drop to 0 HP, drop to 1 HP instead. Once per long rest. Plus you can spend 1 HD to roll hit dice and regain HP equal to total + CON mod (no action required, 1/long rest). The signature: level 1, drop to 0, rise to 1, see what the boss does. Bonus-action Eldritch Blast turn. Then go unconscious again. Rise again. TPK-proofing. Among the Warlock patrons (Archfey, Fiend, Great Old One, Undying, Hexblade), Undying is the most "tank" oriented. Hexblade is the most "DPR." Fiend is the most "blaster caster." Great Old One is the most "control" (telepathic range). Eldritch Blast is the chassis. Agonizing Blast is the engine. Race: Half-Elf for skill versatility, Tiefling for Hellish Rebuke, or Dwarf for HP.
