Describe it your way — Retribution is already filled in.
You wrap yourself in shimmering ethereal armor. The next time a creature hits you with a melee attack, it takes force damage equal to half the damage it dealt to you, and it must make a Strength saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is pushed up to 5 feet away from you. Then the spell ends.
