Saltling
Tiny construct, unaligned
The salt pans east of Brinehollow are worked in season and left alone the rest of the year, and what forms in the crust between harvests is nobody's fault and nobody's property. A saltling is the size of a fist and takes no interest in anything that is not already moving. Pan hands kill them with the flat of a shovel and think nothing of it, which is the correct response to one of them.

Traits
False Appearance. While the saltling remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from an ordinary lump of pan crust.
Salt Burst. When the saltling drops to 0 hit points it bursts. Each creature within 5 feet of it must succeed on a DC 11 Constitution saving throw or be blinded until the end of its next turn.
Accretion. A saltling that is not broken up keeps taking on crust. Left through a full season it thickens into a pan crawler, which is why the salt company breaks the pans on a schedule rather than on sight.
Actions
Scour. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d4 + 2) slashing damage.
