Loremaster’s notes

The Horizon Walker is the "I attack, then teleport" Ranger. Planar Warrior (level 3) is a bonus action to "mark" a creature with 1d8 force damage on your next attack, scaling to 1d12 at level 11. Etereal Step (level 7) gives you a free Misty Step after attacking (1/short rest, scaling to 2/short rest at level 11). Distant Strike (level 11) lets you attack 3 different targets within 30 feet as part of one attack. Crusading at level 15 (Aasimar-flavored ability: +CHA mod to one attack, regain HP equal to damage dealt) makes you very sticky. Race: Wood Elf for Mask of the Wild (hide when lightly obscured by natural phenomena) and Fleet of Foot (35 ft base speed). Note: this is a "uses the Ranger chassis for what it's good at" build. The base Ranger chassis is widely mocked; Horizon Walker is one of the 2-3 subclasses that makes it work.
